Baptist Chemists was founded in March 1994 by a group of HKBU chemistry alumni, mostly graduates of the 1970s. The original aim was simple: to promote reunion of chemistry graduates and in the course build up a caring community. There was an urge to unite the force of alumni in contributing to the academic development and research of our alma mater's Chemistry Department; as well as to assist incumbent chemistry students in their career development. Over the past ten years, the association has striven to fulfill these aims and though achievement has been modest, we did succeed in building a community of dedicated members and strengthening relationship between alumni and the Chemistry faculty and students.

Currently, we have close to 100 members, comprising graduates from 1965, right up to 2004. We also succeeded in locating alumni from around the world, reconnecting them with the University. We sincerely call on all Chemistry alumni to join the association, and together we shall build a better organization that could better fulfill its purposes.

We would like to hear from you, wherever you are and whatever you are pursuing. Send us an email or call any of the Steering Committee members.
